The Little Rock Workforce Development Board (LRWDB) held its inaugural meeting on August 27, 2015. A presentation entitled “The WIOA of 2014 and the Little Rock Workforce Development Board; How will it affect our City?” - delivered by Executive Director W. J. Monagle - was the focal point of the session. The presentation may viewed on this website under the Board/LRWIB Reports menu item.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA) of 2014, which replaces legislation from 1998, means that “investment” is now “development.” The Little Rock Workforce Investment Board (LRWIB) is now the LRWDB.

The LRWDB remains committed to serving as a resource for employers and workers throughout Little Rock. The new WIOA vision will allow us to be even more quality-focused, employer-driven, customer-centered, and tailored to the needs of our regional economy.

We are excited to be part of an integrated one-stop delivery system between states, local boards, local officials, core WIOA partners, and one-stop center operators. Through this network, the LRWDB can leverage resources to provide high-quality workforce, economic development, education, and human resource programs. The next generation of workforce development has arrived!
